Bear Sotelo (C’24) | Senior Exhibition
Bear Sotelo is an artist currently based in 芝加哥 where she is pursuing a BA in Fine Arts with a concentration in Graphic Design at North Park University. Since childhood she has felt a strong pull towards creatures, both from our earthbound reality and fantasy. This interest is consistently expressed through her work. These animals and creatures also work as vehicles to express pain, 痛苦, 虐待动物, and the often-distorted relationships between humans and the world as well as humans’ ability to connect deeply with their own experience. She creates her characters to entertain and bring a glimpse of her own interpretations of experiences with childlike wonder to viewers. The primary mediums she uses to bring these beasts to life include graphite and colored pencil. Bear’s artwork has been displayed in the Junior Show in Carlson Tower Gallery, as well as a Scholarship showcase in Brandel图书馆 at North Park University.
